TUNRA Bulk Solids Research Associates (TBS), a division of Newcastle Innovation, is a world leader in applied and fundamental bulk solids handling research. TBS has been in existence for over 30 years and has built a strong reputation in industry for its professional consulting service and world-class research in all aspects of bulk solids handling. It focuses on providing innovative and cost effective materials for handling solutions, particularly in relation to difficult to handle materials.

TUNRA Clean Coal

TUNRA Clean Coal, a division of Newcastle Innovation, offers services to the mining industry in the area of clean coal technologies and the processing of coal and minerals in a clean and efficient way. TUNRA Clean Coal offers consultancy services and undertakes research focused on developing new coal processing technologies that will enhance processing plant performance and generate a cleaner burning product.

TUNRA Fine Particles

This division is based in the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Centre for Multiphase Processes and provides research and consulting services in the areas of flotation and particle separation. TUNRA Fine Particles has access to excellent laboratory and pilot-scale facilities, including an operational mineral-processing laboratory with ball and rod mills, flotation with mechanical and Jameson cells, pressure filtration and IR drying facilities.
